Do You Have Candida?
Do you have sinus pain, congestion and symptoms that never seem to go away? Do you have to clear your throat during the day and have nasal drainage that wakes you up at night? If so, there’s a very high probability that you have a yeast overgrowth, fungal sinusitis or what is called a candida overgrowth.
Although Candida albicans is recognized as the cause of problems like vaginal yeast infections and thrush in children, what is often not realized is that this yeast originates in the digestive tract. If the overgrowth in the gut is not kept under control, the yeast may become systemic – entering the bloodstream, and traveling throughout the body, where it can spread to the vagina, urinary tract, skin, fingernails, toenails, mouth, organs, and tissues. From here, it can contribute to many health problems. It is normal to have some yeast in your body – however the problem occurs when something upsets the balance of bacteria, which allows yeast organisms to proliferate and take over control of the healthy microorganisms.
What Causes Candida?
Over-prescribed use of antibiotics – which kill not only the bacteria we want to get rid of, but also the good bacteria in the digestive tract – may be the number one cause of candida overgrowth. Other drugs such as anti-inflammatories, cortisone, and birth control pills can also cause imbalances. A diet high in refined sugar can lead to overgrowth of candida, as well.
Symptoms of Candida
- Persistent bloating / gas
- Joint and muscle pain
- Recurring vaginal yeast infections
- Food sensitivities / allergies
- Recurring bladder infections
- Fatigue
- Sugar cravings
- Brain fog
- Bad breath
- Sinus problems
- Insomnia
Take Steps to Eliminate Candida Overgrowth
- Minimize your use of antibiotics, steroids, immune-suppressing drugs, and oral contraceptives (only after consulting your health care provider).
- Cleanse your system with supplements that contain anti-fungal herbs and nutrients, such as AlliUltra and Candida Balance.
- Reestablish good bacteria with a high-quality probiotic supplement.
- Increase fiber consumption (ground flaxseeds are an excellent source of fiber). This will help absorb and sweep out the candida toxins. Thirty to forty grams of fiber per day is required, but most Americans only get 10 to 12 grams.
