Our eyes are complex sensory organs that contain up to 70% of all of the sensory receptors in the body. Eyes need to be continually nourished with the proper nutrients in order to stay healthy and protected against damage that light and other environmental factors can cause. Both free radical damage and decreased blood flow to the eyes are the main causes for degenerative eye conditions. Recent research has shown that taking antioxidants can slow or stop oxidative damage to the eyes.
