ResveraCel supports healthy aging in several ways. Nicotinamide riboside (NR) supports the multiple functions of cellular mitochondria, helping to regulate cellular aging and providing positive support for metabolic syndrome. Resveratrol mimics the effect of calorie restriction by activating the sirtuin group of proteins and has shown promise in clinical studies by attenuating the effects of age-related conditions. Quercetin phytosome also enhances sirtuin activity – research indicates that it slows the breakdown of resveratrol in the body. Betaine provides premier support for methylation, a crucial body process that contributes to the health of the heart, blood vessels, brain, nervous system, and liver.
ResveraCel contains nicotinamide riboside – the most efficient direct precursor to nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+). The mitochondria cannot perform their crucial cellular function without a sufficient supply of NAD+. NR offers fundamental support for mitochondrial biogenesis, as well as multiple other mitochondrial activities – from energy production to the regulation of metabolism and cellular aging.
The resveratrol in ReservaCel is trans-resveratrol – not a diluted plant extract found in many resveratrol products on the market. It increases activity of the sirtuins – SIRT1 and SIRT3, in particular. In one study, resveratrol was shown to be the most potent natural activator of the sirtuin proteins.
The quercetin in Thorne's quercetin phytosome is bound to sunflower-sourced phospholipids for enhanced absorption. Research shows that in addition to slowing resveratrol breakdown, quercetin phytosome acts as a potent antioxidant.
Betaine, an important methyl donor, provides nutrient support for the condition known as fatty liver, and it also promotes the metabolism of homocysteine. In addition to providing significant methylation support because it donates three methyl groups, betaine provides positive support for other metabolic functions associated with metabolic syndrome.

I've been using essential oil balms for aches and pains, and they definitely help but their smell is rather strong. Magsoothium cream, by contrast, has a mild, pleasant flowery smell. I use it when I go out and do find it effective for moderate pain. I also use it at bedtime on my calves, as the magnesium helps with leg cramps which often wake me up - and it might be helping me to sleep better as well! I first ordered the small size to test it out, but took advantage of a recent sale and ordered two of the large size.

5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is the intermediate metabolite produced when the body initiates the process of converting the essential amino acid L-tryptophan to serotonin. Serotonin levels in the body are associated with the regulation of sleep, mood, aggression, appetite, temperature, sexual behavior, and pain sensation.*
