Hydrochloric acid (HCl) and the proteolytic enzyme pepsin that are secreted in the stomach, and the pancreatic enzymes (amylase, lipase, and protease) secreted from the pancreas into the small intestine are essential for digestion and absorption of nutrients from the food we eat. HCl facilitates the body’s absorption of multiple nutrients, including folate, vitamin B12, vitamin C, beta-carotene, iron, and various forms of calcium, magnesium, and zinc. Pancreatic enzymes facilitate the absorption of fat-soluble nutrients like vitamins A, D, E, and K, CoQ10, and omega-3 fatty acids.

INTERACTIONS:
Multi Enzyme should not be used concurrent with H2-blocking drugs and proton pump inhibitors because these drugs are intended to block the production of stomach HCl.
ADDITIONAL WARNINGS:
Multi Enzyme is contraindicated in patients with peptic ulcers. It is not recommended to remove the Multi Enzyme powder from the capsule to take orally, as it can be irritating to the oral mucosa.

I've been using essential oil balms for aches and pains, and they definitely help but their smell is rather strong. Magsoothium cream, by contrast, has a mild, pleasant flowery smell. I use it when I go out and do find it effective for moderate pain. I also use it at bedtime on my calves, as the magnesium helps with leg cramps which often wake me up - and it might be helping me to sleep better as well! I first ordered the small size to test it out, but took advantage of a recent sale and ordered two of the large size.

5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is the intermediate metabolite produced when the body initiates the process of converting the essential amino acid L-tryptophan to serotonin. Serotonin levels in the body are associated with the regulation of sleep, mood, aggression, appetite, temperature, sexual behavior, and pain sensation.*
