The thinness and flexibility of Salonpas Pain Relief Patch makes them extremely discreet and allows them to stick firmly to any shape of the body, even over joints. Salonpas Pain Relief Patch can be worn for up to 12 hours, day and night, and is clinically proven to provide long-lasting relief.
How to apply:
- Clean and dry the affected area before applying. Wash your hands if necessary.
- Only use one patch at a time.
- A single patch could be applied for up to 8 to 12 hours.
- If pain occurs again 8 to 12 hours after applying the first patch, a second patch could be applied. Remove the first patch before applying a new patch.
- Salonpas Pain Relief Patch is suitable for adults and should not be used by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Warnings

Do not use:
- on wounds or damaged skin
- with a heating pad
- if you are allergic to any ingredients of this product
When using this product:
- use only as directed
- avoid contact with the eyes, mucous membranes, or rashes
- do not bandage tightly
Stop use and ask a doctor if:
- skin reactions such as redness, itching, rash, excessive irritation, burning, swelling or blistering occur
- condition worsens
- symptoms persist for more than 7 days
- symptoms clear up and occur again within a few days
If pregnant or breast-feeding: Ask a health professional before use.
Keep out of reach of children.
If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
Directions
- Adults and children 12 years of age and over:
- clean and dry affected area
- remove patch from film
- apply to affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily
- remove patch from the skin after at most 8-hour application
- Children under 12 years of age: Consult a doctor

I've been using essential oil balms for aches and pains, and they definitely help but their smell is rather strong. Magsoothium cream, by contrast, has a mild, pleasant flowery smell. I use it when I go out and do find it effective for moderate pain. I also use it at bedtime on my calves, as the magnesium helps with leg cramps which often wake me up - and it might be helping me to sleep better as well! I first ordered the small size to test it out, but took advantage of a recent sale and ordered two of the large size.

5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is the intermediate metabolite produced when the body initiates the process of converting the essential amino acid L-tryptophan to serotonin. Serotonin levels in the body are associated with the regulation of sleep, mood, aggression, appetite, temperature, sexual behavior, and pain sensation.*
