We receive a lot of health-related questions through email, calls and in person at the pharmacy. And although we would love to help you and answer your questions immediately – and do when we can – sometimes a more in-depth consultation is required.
At Village Green Apothecary, we offer an online Ask the Expert service, where you can submit any health-related question and one of our experts will answer your question within three business days. You can ask whatever you want, but sometimes we will not be able to give you the answer you want via email and will recommend you seek the counsel of one of our practitioners.
Here are some scenarios for when being in the care of a healthcare practitioner is warranted:
- If you have questions about a serious health condition and are looking for advice about long-term management.
- If you are looking to come off prescribed medication.
- If you want someone to go over your prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
- If you require meal planning.
- If you require custom compounding (hormones, meds, supplements).
- If you require or have had blood or saliva testing.
These situations usually require more information than what can be offered in a question/answer format and a consultation is recommended. During a consult, the practitioner will work with you to create an individual health plan that encourages and supports your goals for improved health and well-being. You will receive personal guidance on a supplement program that is right for you, as well as recommendations for dietary and lifestyle changes to improve your health.
Areas of health that a consult can provide are:
- Supplement review
- Custom compounding
- Personal wellness plans and support
- Drug/nutrient interactions and depletions
- Lab results interpretation
- Sleep support
- Pain management
- Digestive health
- Food allergies and sensitivities
- Cardiovascular health
- Hormone balance
