Small Business Saturday: November 29

PersonalCarearea-crop-sm-aThis year marks the 5th annual Small Business Saturday. There are so many reasons to get out there and support local small businesses. Here are a five: 1. Locally owned businesses create more jobs locally and, in some sectors, provide better wages and benefits than chains do. 2.Compared to chain stores, locally owned businesses put a much larger share of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the whole community. 3. Local ownership ensures that important decisions are made locally by people who live in the community and who will feel the impacts of those decisions. 4. There are usually more diversity and options available at a local small business. Sure, the big box chains carry more, but small chains offer items you may never find elsewhere and can even special order items that they don't usually carry. 5. In my experience, customer service in a small business far exceeds that of any larger chain store. At Village Green Apothecary we strive to make sure that each and every person is taken care of and has the best experience. So, whether it be Small Business Saturday, any Saturday or any other day of the week, supporting small businesses deserves to be part of your regular routine. Plus - our biggest sale of the year is going on now!
