5 Reasons to Support Small Business Saturday on November 28... And Every Day!

Posted on by Paula Gallagher

small-business-saturdayThis year marks the 6th annual Small Business Saturday. There are many reasons to get out there and support local, small businesses! Here are five: 1. Locally-owned businesses create more jobs locally and, in some sectors, provide better wages and benefits than chains retailers do. 2 .Compared to chain stores, locally owned businesses put a much larger share of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the whole community. 3. Local ownership ensures that important decisions are made by people who live in the community and who will feel the impacts of those decisions. 4. Often, more diversity and unique options are available at local small businesses. Sure, the big box chains carry more stuff, but small chains offer items you may never find elsewhere, and you can frequently special-order items that they don't usually carry. IMG_0121_tote5. In my experience, customer service in a small business far exceeds that of any larger chain store. At Village Green Apothecary we strive to make sure that each and every person is taken care of and has the best possible experience. So, whether it be Small Business Saturday, any Saturday, or any other day of the week, consider supporting small businesses as part of your regular routine. Plus – our biggest sale of the year is going on now! AND... in honor or Small Business Saturday, we're giving away beautiful Village Green tote bags (recycled cotton, made in the USA) to our first 50 customers this Saturday in the store, with a minimum purchase of $50 – just mention that you read this here!
