The list exposes the most pesticide-contaminated produce. Apples were at the top of the list again, followed by strawberries and grapes. Although washing produce thoroughly can help reduce the pesticide residue, I would still recommend choosing organic, especially for those first 12 (or dirty dozen). Organic produce can be very expensive, so if you are on a tight budget, consider filling your shopping cart with produce that was found to have the least amount of pesticide residue, like avocados, pineapples and cabbage. This list is call the [Clean Fifteen™](http://www.ewg.org/foodnews/). EWG also offers two great tools for those who may find sticking to this list too expensive or limited, or even time-consuming. The first is [EWG’s Shoppers Guide to Pesticides in Produce 2014™](http://www.ewg.org/foodnews/), which can be downloaded as a PDF or used as an app for your smart phone. The second tool is [Good Food on a Tight Budget,](http://www.ewg.org/goodfood/) a site that offers tips on saving money on food, as well as tasty recipes! Happy eating! _Photo from [here](https://www.flickr.com/photos/29233640@N07/3430157144/sizes/m/in/photolist-8HMU3G-8GFcJH-2KphHT-3KHW8o-gPaqLt-7zJSAB-gabSQC-6e7sdq-5LxEa3-hgmTUj-46NTyq-ay2Tww-ay2QPJ-ay2Rs7-ay2SxG-JQR4V-nCqMY-5Yxqfi-8vaDEe-qxUQ1-dntVS-794Qs7-4d93gd-46NP6Y-7dDauq-bHhFsg-7fAWba-4MAv3L-kctgMx-5Bwb59-hTMmKi-74RvJG-9edSLs-dikuih-h2HWMz-kJTGwF-5oifvJ-jf9zuz-fQrqcf-5pkYxK-k327X-7Bg9mD-5kgeqC-q4Eq8-a9N77m-hgo3yZ-fz2wE2-78d2yy-4svE3Q-jzPYNr/), with thanks._
