# Another Reason to Take Fish Oil - RvD2

RvD2 - no it's not another Star Wars character. RvD2 (Resolvin D2) is a chemical that is derived from omega 3 fish oils. Researchers have discovered that this chemical reduces inflammation. So people who have suffered from arthritis may have a new treatment option. And unlike anti-inflammatory drugs used to traditionally treat arthritis, RvD2 doesn't suppress the immune system. Come to think of it, I have never seen a salmon hobbling about.
